POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

 

TITLE:                                                 Cafeteria Employee                                                            

 

REPORTS TO:                                     Cafeteria Manager                                                             

 

LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR:             9 months (187 days)                          

 

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Performs efficiently and to the best of his/her ability the duties assigned in relation to preparation of food, serving of food, cleaning of all areas of the kitchen, or other assigned duties in the time allotted.
  2. Attends training meeting as required.
  3. Reports to work at designated time and remain on the job until dismissed by the manager.
  4. Notifies manager at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
  5. Maintains pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for other, patience, respect, self-control, and other desirable character traits.
  6. Maintains desirable relations between school and community.
  7. Follows all policies of the School Board and instructions of the manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personal standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties.
  8. Performs duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, serving of food, cashiering, and record keeping.
  9. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. as well as meet the physical demands of standing, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying and operating equipment.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by the cafeteria manager.

 

 

                                                                                                                                                           

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Ability and willingness to follow instructions, both written and oral.
  3. Willingness to work in any situation.
  4.  Ability to work efficiently with continuous standing.
  5. Must pass a current criminal records background check and a current child abuse registry check.

 

                                                                                                                                                           

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
