JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Maintenance Employee – Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO: Bo Barksdale, Director of Buildings and Grounds
LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 240 Days
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform a variety of locksmith and door repairs; install, and replace locks, doors, and hardware.
- Perform general building repairs such as roofing, drainage, drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical and other related maintenance activities.
- Assist other maintenance technicians as needed.
- Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures, open clogged lines, and drains.
- Operate a variety of machinery, equipment, and various hand tools.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
- Communicate effectively in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner with students, employees, faculty, and the public.
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance in accordance with school policies and practices.
- Perform preventive maintenance as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven maintenance experience.
- Experience performing routine maintenance.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Be a self-starter and have strong time management skills.
5. Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
6. Have basic computer skills.
7. Ability to work with limited supervision.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in general maintenance operations or related area.
- Current Mississippi drivers license with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
- Relevant professional certifications.
- High school diploma
- Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances.
- Problem solving aptitude.
- Good physical condition

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Applicable knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
